Today we’re highlighting how @perspectivesfamily and @fitkidsfoundation are helping Minnesota Twin Cities youth stay active and healthy.
Perspectives is an award-winning human service program that addresses society’s most pressing issues: equity, diversity, inclusion, homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental illness, food insecurity, and the lack of access to life-changing opportunities for disenfranchised mothers and their children.
Perspectives was thrilled to introduce Fit Kids’ fitness component to expand their ever-growing list of holistic services they provide to the mothers and children they serve.
“I was so excited to learn about Fit Kids, I didn’t know a program like this existed. In our 43+ years of serving our community, we’ve never had a fitness program to run along with our nutrition program,” said Lisa Walker, Perspectives’ Vice President of Development and Communications. “When Ashley called and offered us a partnership with Fit Kids, it was a dream come true!”
About Fit Kids
Fit Kids fixes a fitness opportunity gap by providing structured fitness programs for youth, primarily in underserved communities, at no cost
to the host schools and community organizations or their participating families.
This partnership means a lot to Fit Kids Founder Ashley Hunter.
“As a Minnesota native, I’ve always wanted Fit Kids to reach the point where we could attract high-impact partners in my home state. Perspectives already does such great work with people who really need it, and everyone at Fit Kids looks forward to seeing how we can contribute.”
