Join Fit Kids for a grand-opening event Saturday, August 21, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Sports Basement’s newest location, Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco. Starting at 11 a.m., Fit Kids will lead one or more youth fitness classes, drawing from the extensive curriculum the non-profit offers to its partner schools and community organizations throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

Full details are on the Sports Basement website and at Eventbrite, where you can register in advance for the Fit Kids class. Class size is limited to ensure participants’ safety.

“We are excited to showcase Fit Kids at the grand opening of our Stonestown Galleria store,” said Megan Ayala, Senior Marketer for Sports Basement. “Fit Kids does wonderful work in bringing fitness activities to underserved youth. Sports Basement prides itself on supporting causes in the communities where we operate, and no cause could be more important than keeping kids moving.”

Adults are welcome to watch, participate, or shop the store and enjoy food and beverage while the kids get a great workout. All are encouraged to sign up for Sports Basement’s “Basementeer” frequent-shopper program and designate Fit Kids as a beneficiary of a portion of proceeds.

“I’m thrilled that Sports Basement is offering Fit Kids this opportunity,” said Fit Kids Founder and Executive Director Ashley Hunter. “The funding and awareness we generate through this event will go a long way toward supporting our effort to bring structured fitness activities to many more youth in our community.”
