Fit Kids has added programs at 10 schools in Los Angeles served by the Saint Sebastian Sports Project, a non-profit that uses sports to positively impact underserved youth in Catholic schools administered by the Los Angeles Archdiocese.
Thanks to financial and logistical assistance from the LA Dodgers Foundation, the Lakers Youth Foundation and Positive Coaching Alliance-Los Angeles, the Saint Sebastian sites receiving Fit Kids programs are:
St. Albert the Great
St. Catherine of Siena
St. Francis of Assisi
St. Frances X. Cabrini
St. Lawrence of Brindisi
“It is a blessing that we are able to offer Fit Kids programs to the children at these schools,” said Clare Gurbach, Saint Sebastian’s Executive Director. “We leapt at the opportunity to do so once we learned about it through the organizations that support both us and Fit Kids.”
Added Fit Kids Founder Ashley Hunter: “We are overjoyed at the rapid spread of our programs in Los Angeles. The way this came together through the mutual aid of several like-minded organizations demonstrates the crying need for the services that Fit Kids and Saint Sebastian provide. The more we can all rally around bringing fitness programs to the communities that need them the most, the healthier our world will be.”
